Documents required
- Completed visa application form (two copies)
- Valid passport with a colour copy (6 months' validity recommended at minimum)
- Colour passport-size photo (not instant)
- Letter from the employer or sponsor stating job title and salary (HR letter)
- Bank statement
- Commercial register and tax card for businessmen and freelance professionals
- Hotel booking, or an invitation from a Lebanese resident or citizen with a copy of their passport and full address in Lebanon (secondary source)
- Return ticket booking (secondary source)
- For travellers without a prior visa entering via Beirut Airport: USD 2,000 in cash or a certified cheque, a confirmed hotel booking, and a non-refundable round-trip ticket
- Passport free of any Israeli visa or stamp
- Declaration signed by the husband for children travelling with their Lebanese mother (in the case of a Lebanese wife and Egyptian husband)
How to apply from Egypt
- Download the visa application form from the Lebanese Embassy in Cairo website (cairo.mfa.gov.lb) and fill it in
- Prepare two copies of the application and documents, with colour passport photos
- Submit the application to the Lebanese Embassy in Cairo (22 Mansour Mohamed Street, Zamalek) or the Lebanese Consulate General in Alexandria
- Pay the fees in Egyptian pounds according to the visa type, and wait for approval from the Lebanese General Security Directorate
- Alternative at the traveller's own risk: travel without a prior visa and apply at Beirut Airport under the airport conditions above
