  1. A passport valid for at least 3 months after the date of departure from the Schengen Area, with at least two blank pages, issued within the last 10 years
  2. A completed and signed Schengen visa application form
  3. Two recent colour passport photos with a white background (35×40 mm)
  4. A bank statement covering the last 3 months proving financial capacity
  5. A confirmed round-trip flight booking
  6. A hotel booking or proof of accommodation in Italy or San Marino (or an invitation/hosting declaration)
  7. Travel medical insurance covering the entire Schengen Area with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros for the full duration of stay
  8. Proof of employment or study in Egypt (employment letter or proof of enrolment) demonstrating intent to return
  9. A receipt for payment of the visa fee and service fees

How to apply from Egypt

  1. Confirm that Italy is the main destination of the trip (or the first entry country if the durations are equal), since San Marino does not issue visas and is accessed via Italy
  2. Book an appointment through the VFS Global website for Italy in Egypt: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/one-pager/italy/egypt/english/
  3. Prepare the documents and submit the application in person with biometrics at the VFS center (Cairo or Alexandria, depending on center availability)
  4. Pay the visa fee and service fees in cash in Egyptian pounds
  5. Follow up on the application and collect the passport from the center after the decision is issued
  6. When travelling to San Marino: enter via Italy with the visa, as there are no border controls between Italy and San Marino
