Documents required
- Application form completed in English or Spanish and signed
- Recent colour photo (taken within the last 6 months), 3.5×4.5 cm, white background, no smiling or glasses
- Passport issued within the last 10 years, valid for 3 months after the return date, with two blank pages, plus copies of all pages used
- Old passports from the last 7 years, or a movement certificate if the current passport does not contain a Schengen visa
- Translated copy of the national ID card with official translation
- For employees: original HR letter, signed and stamped, stating job title, salary, date of hiring, and approved leave (valid for 3 months). For business owners: valid commercial register and tax card. For students: proof of enrolment
- Original bank statement for the last 6 months, stamped, with translation, dated no more than one month before the application (no minimum balance is published), plus the bank declaration form
- Travel medical insurance with coverage of at least 30,000 euros, including medical expenses and repatriation in all Schengen countries
- Return flight booking (it is preferable not to pay the full ticket price before the visa is issued)
- Confirmed hotel booking for the entire stay, or proof of accommodation with a host
- Travel itinerary if visiting more than one Schengen country
- For married applicants travelling together: marriage certificate issued in Spanish. For minors: notarised consent and birth certificate in Spanish
- Translation of Arabic documents into Spanish or English
How to apply from Egypt
- Book an appointment only via the BLS website (egypt.blsspainglobal.com) using the applicant's correct details
- Attend the BLS centre in person (required for everyone over 6 years old): 6th floor, Building 39, Lebanon Street, Agouza, Giza, with the appointment letter
- Pay the visa fee and service fee in cash in US dollars, and provide fingerprints and photo
- The centre sends the application to the embassy on the next working day; any additional documents requested must be submitted within 10 days
- Collect the passport from the centre or through the courier service (330 EGP within Cairo)
