Documents required

  1. Passport valid for travel to the United States for at least 6 months beyond the planned length of stay
  2. Printed DS-160 confirmation page
  3. Digital photo meeting official specifications (5×5 cm, white background) uploaded with the DS-160, and a printed photo if the upload fails
  4. Visa fee payment receipt
  5. Proof of trip purpose and intent to return to Egypt (employment letter, property ownership, family ties)
  6. Proof of financial ability to cover trip costs (bank statement)
  7. Valid government-issued photo ID for entry to the embassy

How to apply from Egypt

  1. Complete the DS-160 form online and print the confirmation page
  2. Create an account on the official Egypt appointment services website (GSS / ustraveldocs) and pay the MRV fee
  3. Book an interview appointment (appointments are usually released on Sundays at 8 AM)
  4. Attend the in-person interview at the US Embassy: 5 Tawfik Diab Street, Garden City, Cairo, where fingerprints will be taken (mobile phones and bags are not permitted inside)
  5. For eligible renewal cases (tourist visa expired within the past 48 months): submit your passport and confirmation letter at the SLS office in Zamalek to waive the interview
  6. Collect your passport after approval from the designated pickup point
