1. A passport valid for at least 3 months after return, with two blank pages, along with old passports and previous visas
2. VIDEX form completed and signed personally
3. Recent biometric photo (less than 6 months old) with a white or light grey background, not stuck on
4. Invitation letter from the German company (address, contact details and field of business, purpose and duration, name of the inviter and copy of their passport, and a declaration of cost coverage under §§66–68 of the Residence Act, if applicable)
5. Letter from the employer in German or English (job, length of employment, monthly salary and proof of payment, purpose and duration, social security number, company details and name of signatory)
6. For business owners: a recent valid commercial register extract and tax card translated into German or English, plus the company's bank statement for the last 6 months
7. Personal bank statement for the last 6 months, chronologically arranged, signed and stamped (required even if the company bears the costs)
8. Travel medical insurance of at least 30,000 euros, valid in all Schengen countries without exceptions
9. Return flight booking and hotel booking with reservation number and PIN, or a rental contract with the full address
10. Proof of the business relationship (contracts, invoices, correspondence) or registration for the exhibition/conference, if applicable
11. Copy of national ID card
12. Travel history certificate from the Tahrir Complex in English or German for first-time applicants (aged 16 and over) if there are no previous Schengen visas
13. Exhibition visitors: entry ticket and confirmation of a meeting with an exhibitor; exhibitors: proof of participation (invoice and payment) and exhibition plan; conferences: confirmation of registration
14. Certified translation into German or English of any Arabic document, and documents must not be older than 3 months

3. Apply from 6 months up to 4 weeks before travel; the appointment can be cancelled up to 3 days before
4. Attend the TLScontact Cairo centre in person (Capital Business Park, Sheikh Zayed; address per TLScontact's announcement, check the address page on the website) for fingerprints, to submit the file and pay the visa fees in Egyptian pounds
5. Track the status online and collect the passport from the centre
