Documents required
- Passport valid throughout the stay with a blank page, plus any old passports
- Completed online application on gov.uk, with the fee payment receipt and visa centre appointment confirmation
- Invitation letter from the host company/entity in the UK stating the purpose of the visit (meetings, conference, contract negotiations), the dates, and who bears the costs
- Letter from the Egyptian employer on official letterhead stating job title, salary, appointment date, approval of leave/mission, and a commitment to return
- For business owners: recent commercial register and tax card with certified translation
- Personal bank statement for the last 6 months (and the company's bank statement if the company is funding the trip)
- Payslips for the last 3–6 months
- Preliminary hotel booking and itinerary, or preliminary flight booking
- Certified English translation of any Arabic documents
- Travel history for the last 10 years (required in the form) and copies of previous visas
How to apply from Egypt
- Apply online at gov.uk (Apply for a Standard Visitor visa), select the visa duration, and pay the fees online
- Book an appointment at the TLScontact UK visa centre in Cairo via the TLScontact portal
- Attend the appointment for fingerprinting and photo, and submit/upload documents (passport is returned the same day)
- Wait for a decision (usually within 3 weeks), then hand over the passport for the visa sticker and collect it from the centre
